Our children today are so busy and spending more and more time on screens and devices. They can often be tired or easily distracted, or as I have found with my own children felt overwhelmed, stressed or anxious. Yoga for kids has so many health benefits that not only help with fitness but also with focus and concentration.

Mindful Kids Yoga is now offering Yoga and Mindfulness Classes/Workshops in the Mackay region for public and private primary schools and Kindergarten Programs (Kindy to Grade 6), our classes will include:

  • Mindfulness lessons to help children be more present and aware of their inner and outer environment
  • Yoga Poses to help with balance, flexibility, strength and relaxation
  • Breathing exercises to help with anxiety and stress reduction
  • Relaxation exercises to calm and relax a child’s busy mind
  • Fun and interactive games and activities to help keep kids engaged
  • Yoga stories that students participate in with fun and exciting characters
  • Partner Yoga to build teamwork, confidence and stronger relationships
  • Themed classes taking kids’ imaginations to lots of fun places including the beach, under the sea, the jungle, safari, the farm, camping, on holidays and many more.

Qualifications and Certifications include:

  • Qualified Yoga Teacher (Registered Level 1 Teacher with Yoga Australia) - currently completing Advanced Diploma in Biomedical Yoga and Lifestyle Medicine
  • Certified Kids Yoga Instructor
  • Mindfulness and Breathwork Facilitator
  • Building Personal Resilience Program Mentor
  • Current First Aid and CRP Certification
  • Current Working with Children Blue Card
  • Fully insured with personal indemnity insurance & Public Liability
  • Registered with Yoga Australia

My goal is to bring classes to your school that are fun, interactive and engaging but also teach kids skills to be able to self-regulate in stressful situations and build more personal resilience and confidence in their own abilities.

In particular, child psychology studies have noted that kids yoga provides children with the tools necessary for remaining centred and focused during stressful or challenging times.
